SSN is working with South Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership on a new project which explores how the Partnership can support a low carbon future in the region. The project has been developed to support collaborative action on the climate emergency, with the Community Planning Board recognising the need to identify how partners can work together to drive this agenda locally.
As part of the project, SSN carried out a series of interviews with key stakeholders within the Council and the NHS. A wider workshop for key regional stakeholders has also been developed, to take place on 23 November. The workshop is designed to help establish the challenges faced by partners and identify opportunities for partnership collaboration across the region on strategic climate action. Set within the context of the public health crisis of COVID-19 and the green recovery, the event will consider how Ayrshire can address the climate and ecological crisis, through fostering a just transition towards shared prosperity; economic transformation; healthier, greener places and spaces for people and communities.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the project develops.
