SSN has published a new Leaders’ Climate Adaptation Checklist, which builds on the previously published Leaders’ Climate Emergency Checklist and applies a clear climate change adaptation lens to support public sector leaders.
The Leaders’ Climate Adaptation Checklist was developed by the SSN Adaptation Subcommittee, whose members include representatives from Verture, Scottish Water, South Ayrshire Council and Public Health Scotland, all of whom also sit on the SSN Steering Group. The checklist is supported by the Scottish Government and a range of SSN partners, and complements the advice and resources provided through the Adaptation Scotland programme.
The checklist provides a rapid assessment framework covering Strategy, Targets, Governance, Delivery, Finance, Performance and Skills. It is designed to help public sector leaders assess current progress and identify practical actions for improvement.
The Leaders’ Climate Adaptation Checklist will be profiled at the Scottish Government’s Adaptation Summit on 18 December, where it will be used by public sector leaders attending the event.
