Dynamic Coast
Even if we achieve net zero emissions we are already locked into sea level rise beyond 2100. Therefore we must take a precautionary approach and plan now for the worst case scenario on the coast. We must protect our natural defences which protect more than £14.5 billion of assets along our coastline.
In this session, Debi Garft from the Managing Flood Risk Team will introduce us to Dynamic Coast, an adaptation planning tool showing us where the greatest risks are today and in the future and where to focus our adaptation planning. Debi will explain how the Dynamic Coast project has projected past coastal erosion rates forward to build an evidence base for anticipated coastal changes until 2100.
