Find out about sustainable, easy-to-use, cost effective and eco-friendly alternatives to feminine sanitary products

This Climate Week SEPA is holding staff awareness raising seminars on reducing plastics. With a focus on the waste involved in the use of feminine hygene products, staff seminars will offer information and benefits of using cost effective and sustainable alternatives to sanitary pads and tampons.

Working with Plastic Free Periods (an initiative from City to Sea), seminars will present the benefits and advantages of more sustainable products to women and the planet! Plastic Free Periods goals are to empower people to make positive and informed menstruation choices, to raise awareness of reusable menstrual products and to reduce the amount of plastic being flushed down the loo! Alternatives like Mooncup and Diva are safe, effective, save money and dramatically reduce waste.

Here in the UK, millions of people are flushing single-use plastic down the toilet in the form of wipes, menstrual products and other bathroom products like cotton buds and tooth-flossers. Flushed plastics make up around 7% of beach litter * in the UK, and that figure keeps on climbing each year. City to Sea works to reverse that trend and help connect our actions to our oceans, from bog to beach!

Who should attend? This is a staff only event for SEPA employees. For further information contact Fionna Wallace at SEPA.
