How many computer screens have you noticed being left on at the end of a class?
FACT – Leaving a monitor on standby every night for a year wastes enough energy to run a small petrol car for over 30 miles. It also generates enough carbon emissions for the equivilent weight of a polar bear!
On 'Slay Your Standby Vampire' Day, you are encouraged to turn off as many standby screens as you can find!
This initiative is intended for staff and students – though others are certainly encouraged to comply!
