Aberdeen Multicultural Centre has been continually involved in a climate challenge fund project since 2015. AMC participated in Scotland's Climate Week last year and is committed to reducing carbon emissions through a community led project in Aberdeen. As a result of their community work, AMC won two prestigious awards in November 2017. An Aberdeen City Councils ECO-City award for providing a valuable contribution towards making Aberdeen a sustainable city and a CEMVO, ethnic minority environmental impact award for achieving environmental work with diverse ethnic minority community members.

AMC is a user led charity, dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of the diverse communities in Aberdeen. AMC encourages co-operation and integration amongst diverse community groups as well as building harmony and exchanging cultural and language diversity within the communities. The organisation’s vibrant aims are to support communities and the society from social, economic, welfare and environmental perspectives. AMC would like to see greater social integration, remove social isolation organising different cultural activities and improve economic life through community development projects.
