Reporting Template and Guidance
The 2025/26 climate change report template and accompanying guidance notes will be published here shortly. A communication will be issued to all Lead reporters when these go live.
The 2025/26 template must be used by all public bodies irrespective of the reporting period adopted (which should correspond with the body’s annual accounting period). Reporting periods are:
- Financial year (April – March)
- Calendar year (January – December)
- Academic year (August/September – July/August).
All reports must be submitted to ccreporting@ed.ac.uk no later than 30th November 2025.
Key points
- Please complete the Boundary Info tab to enable better assessment of data coverage and reporting gaps.
- The full list of EFs available in table 3b can be viewed on the EF List tab. Please do not edit/amend this list.
- If you need to use a different EF or add total emissions based on a bespoke EF or an alternative methodology, please provide relevant information in one of the “Other” rows and identify the activity or source in the comments. Stating that the data is based on another methodology/multiple conversion factors is insufficient information.
- Please do not unlock any tabs to modify protected cells or delete rows as this corrupts the consolidation of reports required for analysis. Blank rows within tables can be hidden if preferred. If you need any modifications, e.g. additional rows added, please send the template to ccreporting@ed.ac.uk.
Support
Please send all queries to ccreporting@ed.ac.uk. Remember to attach the template if your query concerns a data entry issue/error or if you require extra rows to be added.
Reports submitted in previous years are available here.
