As a partner of this year's Climate Action Summit, organised by Holyrood Communications, SSN helped encourage public sector representation at the conference, as well as contributing to some of the conference sessions.
SSN Chair, John Wincott who attended and took part in the conference, said:
"It was great to be involved in such an influential, and well attended event. The key message from SSN was Collaboration and Coordination, vital elements of all climate actions for organisations in Scotland.
There was a healthy mixture of consensus and debate with numerous panel discussions exploring many facets of climate action. The panel on which SSN was represented particularly focussed on the challenges that we all face, and the best ways to overcome those. As always, the focus from SSN was to accelerate the pace and scale of action by working smarter together, sharing best (and worst) practice, and building partnerships to break down barriers to progress.
A final point from SSN was on leadership, both in organisations and also in broader society, and the wider use of the Leadership Checklist launched last year by SSN. While aimed at public body members, this checklist is sufficiently flexible to be used by most organisations that are serious about tackling climate change. This was a great event, and many thanks go to the organisers and Chair for providing such stimulating debate, and so many interesting conversations."
