NZET Committee publish report

23 January 2023

The Scottish Parliament's Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee has today published its report on the role of local government and its cross-sectoral partners in financing and delivering a net-zero Scotland.

SSN’s Chair, John Wincott, commented on the report saying “This year is going to be exceptional in the number of significant reports being produced on climate change action in Scotland, and 2023 has already opened with the publication of the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee report on ‘The role of local government and its cross-sectoral partners in financing and delivering a net-zero Scotland’. The report outlines key recommendations to scale-up and empower local government action on climate change. Sustainable Scotland Network was part of the panel of expert witnesses that gave evidence to the NZET Committee and we feel that the views we expressed are well reflected in the final report. This is vital reading for all in SSN at the start of a critical year for climate action in Scotland”.

SSN is continuing to work with our members and partners to make progress on many of the recommendations made in the NZET Committee Report.
