SSN launches support programme to boost public sector and climate action hub collaboration.

Following an initial research project into the ways of working and needs of the public sector and climate action hubs, SSN was successful in receiving funding for 2026-27 to further boost collaboration and support public sector and climate action hubs.

SSN Director, George Tarvit, said:

SSN is excited to be taking forward its work to improve collaboration and coordination between public bodies and Community Climate Action Hubs across Scotland. With continued support from the Scottish Government, SSN will be working actively with our public sector members and Community Climate Action Hub staff to identify and promote collaboration to help increase positive impacts for people and places. We will be delivering a busy programme of events, resources and communications designed to enhance the work of both public bodies and Community Climate Action Hubs over the course of this year.

Through our specialist knowledge of the public sector and a combination of research and engagement with the public sector and climate action hubs we identified key recommendations and actions to boost collaboration.

Further information on the first round of our project can be found in our summary document here.

What happens next?

We are building our support network and work plan jointly with the public sector and climate action hubs.

An SSN Working Group has been established, with local authority members already involved and Hub Managers being invited to join, to identify key topics requiring support and to develop ways of working.

The Working Group will also provide input to our resources, toolkits and events delivered across the year including our annual Gathering in November.

SSN will also provide tailored support to identified public sector and climate action hubs on a regional needs basis through smaller events during the year.
