Adapting to Change
Many businesses are preparing for staff returning to work – to offices that will look and feel very different. The Circular Office initiative is about changing the way that we design office spaces, how we use products within them, and the ways in which we operate in these areas to eliminate waste and create more efficient, resilient spaces. It is a change in mindset from throwing things away after we have made use of them to refurbishing, recycling and regenerating items at the end of their life. Changing how you source, use and dispose of office goods including food, paper, plastic, office furniture, textiles and electronics.
This event will demonstrate how businesses can adapt their working environments by:
- Re-purposing furniture to accommodate ‘social distancing’ and virtual meetings
- Re-designing workspaces by making use of what you have and planning for how you deal with surplus furniture and materials
- Providing reused, re-furbished or re-manufactured equipment such as cycle racks and security lighting to support new ways of travelling to and from work
- Communicating the benefits of these new ways of working, including reduced emissions and pollution, increased efficiency in agile working environments, enhanced health and well-being from more active travel
- Influencing employees to change their mindset towards recycling, reusing, commuting and spending habits
- Changing how you source, use and dispose of office goods including food, paper, plastic, office furniture, textiles and electronics.
- Building local partnerships with charities, SMEs and other businesses that keep the value of resources going and provide employment
Zero Waste Scotland and Circular Edinburgh are delighted to invite you to join them on 25 June when experts will help you identify steps your organisation can take to become circular and share tools and products you can use to take action.
