This consultation is focussed on the role of public sector bodies in ending Scotland’s contribution to climate change, how the Public Sector Climate Change Reporting Duties should be revised to support that, and how Scottish Government and the wider public sector can work together to make a step-change in delivery.

Share your views - Scottish Government want to hear from public bodies, as well as other organisations and individuals about what you think public sector bodies should be doing to tackle climate change.

This consultation is part of The Big Climate Conversation which aims to:

  • build an open, transparent and collaborative, whole-Scotland approach to reducing emissions;
  • identify and share ideas about opportunities, what works, barriers to action and what we need to do differently; and
  • generate ideas for the update to the Climate Change Plan.

Outputs from the Big Climate Conversation, including this consultation, will help inform the Climate Change Plan update and will inform plans to bring forward secondary legislation that alter the details of the public sector climate change reporting duties.
