Membership

SSN is Scotland’s public sector network on sustainability and climate change.

We are an energetic, friendly, and diverse network that engages a wide range of professionals, practitioners, and leaders from across Scotland's public sector.

Who is SSN membership open to?

SSN membership consists of individual and organisational members. Organisational members are the Public Bodies identified in the Climate Change Act (Scotland).

Individual membership is open to all public sector professionals who wish to collaborate and take action on climate change and sustainability.

Don’t work within the public sector in Scotland, but want to stay up-to-date? Sign up for our monthly newsletter.

We support organisations and individuals across Scotland’s public bodies. Membership enables you to:
  • News

Receive regular news and updates from the network and beyond, keeping you up-to-date on policy, opportunities and networking events.

  • Events

Participate in peer-to-peer networking opportunities. SSN regularly holds events online and in-person, and hosts an annual summer conference. Many of our learning events are led by SSN members sharing their experiences, challenges, and advice, and are interactive by nature.

Join our Local Authority Forum to tackle key issues impacting local government.

  • Resources

Access and contribute to the wide range of resources, case studies and guidance.

  • Policy engagement

Stay up to date with policy and legislation.

Receive Expert one-to-one support with public bodies’ climate change reporting submissions, and support and advice on climate change duties and other sustainability issues.

  • Lead and Collaborate

Join the SSN Steering Group, SSN sub committees, and become an SSN Ambassador.

Join the SSN Knowledge Hub, our members-only platform for discussion and knowledge sharing.

Share your learning and amplify your work across our network. We can share your case studies in the SSN newsletter, on our website, and with our community on LinkedIn. Just get in touch with us at ssn@ed.ac.uk.
